Cameron Compton
Sales Engineer
I bridge the gap between complex technology and real-world problems. With a background in electrical engineering and hands-on experience across software, infrastructure, networking, automation, and observability, I enjoy understanding how systems work and helping people find practical solutions.
About Me
I’m a Sales Engineer with an electrical engineering background and a strong interest in software, infrastructure, networking, and automation.
I enjoy getting hands-on with technology—whether that’s working with APIs, writing automation, troubleshooting infrastructure, building applications, or digging into how a system works.
My work combines technical problem-solving with the ability to take complicated concepts and make them understandable and useful.
What I Do
Technical Sales & Solution Engineering
I work with customers to understand technical challenges, evaluate requirements, demonstrate solutions, and translate complex technology into practical business outcomes.
Observability & Infrastructure
I work with monitoring and observability technologies across servers, networks, applications, and infrastructure to better understand system health, performance, and availability.
Automation & APIs
I use Python, PowerShell, Bash, REST APIs, and other tools to automate repetitive processes, integrate systems, and build practical technical solutions.
Networking & Systems
I enjoy working with networks, Linux systems, containers, protocols, and infrastructure—especially troubleshooting how different systems communicate and interact.

Projects & Building
I enjoy building tools and experimenting with technology outside of my day-to-day work. My projects typically involve automation, infrastructure, networking, APIs, web applications, or solving practical problems with software.
My public projects and experiments can be found on GitHub.
Currently Exploring
I’m continually experimenting with technologies and systems that help me better understand how modern infrastructure works. Current areas of interest include:
- • AI and automation
- • APIs and system integrations
- • Infrastructure monitoring and observability
- • Linux and containerized environments
- • Networking and home lab infrastructure
- • Full-stack web development
- • Cloud infrastructure
- • Aviation technology
Aviation
Aviation is one of my biggest interests outside of technology.
I’m particularly interested in general aviation, aircraft systems, avionics, navigation, weather, and the engineering behind how aircraft operate.
Flying combines many of the things I enjoy most: technology, engineering, continuous learning, decision-making, and understanding complex systems.
